RamTap Horse Trials (Feb. 2006)

The show season has continued with great
success.

Ashley Faulk's
Bartok SLR is continuing to
show his desire to be an event horse by
placing first in Open Preliminary.  He was also
the overall Preliminary division winner.  Bartok
scored a 31.5 in his dressage test to place him
in first, and then on Saturday jumped clean on
cross country, only adding 0.8 in time faults to
hold the lead.  Bartok added a double-clear
show jumping round to maintain his lead.

Courtney Leonard placed sixth in the Open
Intermediate division. Courtney and
Logan will be
moving up to Advanced at Twin Rivers in two
weeks. They had a very accurate cross country go --
proving they are ready to make the move to
Advanced.

Barbara Wachsman's
Outta Hand had another great
showing with a third place finish in Open Novice.

Candy Leaf's
Sylvestre was fifth after dressage in
the Open Training division, but unfortunately he
bumped his knee in his stall overnight and we
decided to scratch him from the rest of the
competition.

Katie Perkins and AirTyme, a.k.a. Patch,
made a comeback to the eventing circuit after
a two year break from a suspensory injury.
Other than showing a little too much
excitement to be back during his dressage
test, Patch did not look like a horse coming off
of a long lay-up. The pair was double clear in
both cross country and show jumping, leading
them to a second place finish in Open Training.

Congratulations are in order for Courtney and Logan!

They successfully completed their first Advanced
horse trials -- placing 11th. They had a wonderful
cross-country run, beautifully conquering the bounce at
the water complex. Look out for them this season --
their partnership has become quite strong.
